PORT ORCHARD — Explosions and gunshots are commonly heard sounds throughout Kitsap County if social media reports are correct. Not surprisingly, many of them originate from Naval Base Kitsap locations.

That will be the case Tuesday and Wednesday this week.

Naval Base Kitsap’s public affairs office said Monday that base security teams will conduct training exercises using blank ammunition on the following dates and times:

— NBK Bremerton, 9 a.m. to noon, Tuesday

— NBK Bangor, 5:30-8 p.m., Tuesday

— NBK Bremerton, 9 a.m. to noon, Wednesday
