Bremerton police searched to no avail Sunday for a man accused of punching his girlfriend’s fish tanks when she tried to break up with him, leaving fish all over the floor.

Police were called to the 1700 block of Houston Avenue at 3:20 p.m. when a 49-year-old woman reported her boyfriend had broken her fish tanks and left the house on foot, according to police reports. The responding police officer found water all over the ground outside the house, spilling out from the inside, as well as rocks and other fish tank items. In the house, several fish were flopping on the floor, while others were in a bucket.

The woman told officers she had an argument with her 49-year-old boyfriend and told him she would leave him. The man punched two fish tanks on his way out of the house. The woman estimated the tanks and the fish were worth $3,000. She was not injured in the incident.

Police could not find the man after a search of the area.
