City Council meetings now streamed on Facebook

Regular meetings held on second and fourth Tuesdays

PORT ORCHARD — Here’s another innovation of the COVID-19 Zoom era: Port Orchard City Council meetings are now being streamed live on Facebook.

The Zoom link is posted in several places on the City of Port Orchard’s website, cityofportorchard.us.; on the website’s banner the day of the meeting on Tuesdays; in the published meeting agenda the Friday before each meeting; and under the website’s “Event” listing.

Regular City Council meetings are conducted at 6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. A work-study session is held on the third Tuesday of each month.

City staff will not be responding to comments posted to the Facebook Live stream, but comments are welcome in regular council meetings through Zoom during the “citizens comment” portion of the agenda.

“Live streaming [on Facebook] is another way for our citizens to watch the council meetings and find out what is happening in the city without having to attend remotely through Zoom or come into City Hall,” Jenine Floyd of the City Clerk’s office said.
