Fred Meyer store sold seven big winners in 2020

PORT ORCHARD — Are you feeling lucky? Port Orchard just might be about the best place around for you to buy a lucky lottery ticket.

Washington’s Lottery announced that three of the top 10 “luckiest” retailers in their Olympic Peninsula retailing district reside in our fair city. And topping the list of retailers that have sold the most winning prizes valued of at least $1,000 in 2020 is the Fred Meyer outlet on Southeast Sedgwick Road in Port Orchard.

The store sold seven winning tickets to its customers, tied with an Albertson’s store, also on Sedgwick. Five winning tickets were sold by the Albertson’s store on Olney Street Southeast.

The Winco Foods store in Bremerton also sold five winning tickets that scored at least $1,000 to its winners.

Washington’s Lottery has generated more than $4.5 billion since its inception in 1982 to support state programs, including the Washington Opportunity Pathways Account, which provides grants to help college students statewide.
