PORT ORCHARD — A COVID-19 vaccination clinic for South Kitsap is opening Thursday and Friday with doses at the ready for those who sign up this week.
Kitsap Public Health District and Kitsap County Emergency Operations Center will operate the South Kitsap clinic at the Christian Life Center on Lincoln Avenue in Port Orchard, just north of the intersection of Bethel Road and Lund Avenue.
The new site will provide 600 doses of the two-dose Pfizer vaccine for individuals 16 and older who have made reservations at kphd.timetap.com.
Kitsap County officials said steady progress is being made in getting residents vaccinated. As of April 20, more than 42% of all county residents 16 and older have received at least one vaccine dose and about 33% are fully vaccinated.
The Bremerton vaccination clinic at St. Michael (Harrison) Hospital at 2520 Cherry Ave. in East Bremerton also is providing the Pfizer vaccine. Appointment dates for this clinic are available on Wednesday.
Vaccine appointments also are now widely available at clinics and pharmacies throughout the county. For a full list of vaccine providers, go to vaccinelocator.doh.wa.gov.
