A 17-year-old Port Orchard girl was booked into a juvenile detention center, while a 19-year-old Olalla female was taken to a Seattle hospital after they were involved in a three-vehicle collision April 19 in the Key Peninsula area.

The Port Orchard girl was booked into Remann Hall Juvenile Detention Center in Tacoma April 20 on suspicion of vehicular assault and driving under the influence, WSP reported.

Washington State Patrol reported the 17-year-old female may been under the influence of drugs when the 2002 Saturn SL 1 she was driving struck a 2013 Volkswagen Passat sedan.

State troopers reported the Volkwagen was waiting to turn left from State Route 302 to 118th Avenue northwest when it was hit. Both cars were heading eastbound on SR 302 when the crash happened about 5:30 p.m.

The Saturn pushed the Volkswagen into oncoming traffic which was hit by westbound 2006 Hummer SUV.

Marijuana and another unidentified substances were found inside the Saturn. Investigators, who found signs of drug impairment when they evaluated the 17-year-old driver, should have blood test results from the female in a few weeks.

None of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening, WSP reported. The 17-year-old driver was taken to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Gig Harbor, while the 19-year-old, who was riding in the Saturn, was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and a 15-year-old Lakebay male was sent to Tacoma General Hospital.

The 65-year-old driver of the Hummer was taken to St. Anthony’s.

The male driver of the Volkswagen and his female passenger, both 49 and from Graham, were treated at the scene for injuries.
