An elderly couple’s vehicle rolled into a ravine near Auto Center Way Tuesday after it collided with six vehicles in a nearby parking lot.

The Port Orchard couple was pulling into a parking lot at about 10:55 a.m. when either a medical issue or a problem with the vehicle caused them to strike six other vehicles, Bremerton Police Sgt. Wendy Davis said. Their car then launched across Auto Center Way and landed on its roof in a ravine. The man was trapped in the vehicle, while his wife was able to escape on her own. The Bremerton Fire Department extracted the man from the vehicle.

Both were taken to Harrison Medical Center with cuts and scratches.

Five of the seven vehicles in the incident were towed and some were likely a total loss, Davis said.
