Frederick P. Gruber, of Seville FL, passed away at his son’s home in Prairie Village, KS on Nov. 5 after a struggle with cancer. He was born in Cincinnati OH on Nov. 9, 1946. Fred was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Anne, his parents, Charles and Jean, and his sisters, Nancy Schockman and Jo Meyer. Fred lived a full and varied life that took him to Korea, Iran, Kuwait, India and various other places around the globe. Returning to the United States, Fred resided on Bainbridge Island WA for 20 years until the death of his wife Anne, after which he relocated to FL, where he enjoyed the weather and spending time with his dogs. Fred was an Air Force veteran and served in Vietnam. He was a graduate of St. Xavier High School and the University of Cincinnati. Fred is survived by his daughter Young-wha Ellis, sons, Joseph and James, and five grandchildren. At Fred’s request, there will be no formal memorial service.
