PORT ORCHARD — Port Orchard Police Department detectives are investigating two burglary incidents Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning in which businesses were broken into by individuals with a truck smashing into the front doors.
At 11:17 p.m. on Tuesday night, officers responded to a burglary alarm and found the front glass door of the closed Puerto Vallarta Restaurant at Bethel and Lund avenues damaged, likely by one or more suspects who had purposely driven a dual rear-wheeled truck into the structure.
The restaurant was damaged by a kitchen fire on Jan. 22, and has remained closed since then.
Police responded several hours later to an alarm at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Extra Mile Convenience store at 280 Tremont Pl. W. When officers arrived, they found the front glass door smashed in by a vehicle matching the dual rear-wheel truck description from the earlier burglary. Security cameras captured footage of a Ford CHS Propane truck driving into the store and two white male suspects entering and taking tobacco products.
The coffee stand in the store’s parking lot also was burglarized, police said.
The police report that two suspects — a white male wearing a white paper mask in a black hoodie and a white male with red hair, who was wearing a black and gray Bud Light baseball hat with blue and black sunglasses, a red bandana, a brown hoodie and light brown boots — were seen in the surveillance video.
Police ask that anyone with information about the burglaries should contact the Port Orchard Police Department at 360-876-1700 or at police@cityofportorchard.us.
