Saturday
3:26 a.m.
A man near the Port Orchard Library called police and said that he was dying. He said that he had hidden himself because he feared that the police would beat him up. When the police arrived, they didn’t see the reporting party at first, but after looking around a bit, they found him outside a bar, nearby.
He said that he wanted to go to St. Anthony’s Hospital but didn’t give a reason why. He smelled strongly like intoxicants.
Police advised him that he shouldn’t spend the night there, but they let him because he seemed to have no where else to sleep.
11:56 a.m.
Police received a report that a Port Orchard woman left her Dodge Caravan unlocked and someone entered and rummaged through it. Nothing was taken.
3:17 p.m.
A Port Orchard man told police someone entered his unlocked 2006 silver Lexus IS300 between 3:00 p.m. 5:30 p.m. and stole a $540 Escort radar detector and a $20 umbrella but left his checkbook. The thief also apparently left the trunk open and rummaged through paperwork in the car.
Sunday
10:44 a.m.
A Port Orchard man reported that his silver Toyota 4X4 pick up truck had been stolen from the parking lot at his apartment complex. When it was stolen, the vehicle’s windshield had a crack on the passengers side.
The truck also had an AutoZone bumper-sticker on the right bumper that said: “size matters.”
Monday
12:15 p.m.
“A citizen” returned a black wallet to Port Orchard police, and told them that he found it at Mile Hill and Harrison.
The wallet contains a driver’s license registered to Shawn Main. Police have tried, so far unsuccessfully, to contact Main.
1:18 p.m.
A Port Orchard woman went with her husband to a bar on Bay Street, and left her purse on the table when she and her husband got up to dance. Another customer said that she saw an approximately 25-year-old woman with long dark hair and a red short dress take the purse and go inside.
They eventually found the purse in the women’s restroom, but it was missing about $100 and a white, Motorola Droid Smartphone.
Police used the phone’s Google GPS system to discover its approximate location in the woods. They searched with several neighbors for the phone in the woods, but they couldn’t find it.
11:30 p.m.
A woman reported that someone threw a rock through the back window of her 1997 Honda Civic and stole a brown combat softball bat valued at $250 from the car.
