I can’t afford to pay for the homeless

Have you looked at your sales receipt lately when you make a purchase? If you live in the South Kitsap area, then you are paying two-tenths of a cent more. Your total sales tax is now 9.2%.

You might ask yourself: Why the increase in sales tax? Your county commissioners voted to increase the sales tax for “affordable housing.” Affordable housing for who? The homeless population, who else.

I don’t know about the rest of the public in Kitsap County, but I can’t afford to house the homeless. I have a very, very low to moderate income and I don’t feel obligated to pay for someone else’s home.
