The League of Women Voters of Kitsap County announced it will host a series of candidate forums for local races next month.

On Thursday, Oct. 3, candidates for the Port Orchard City Council and South Kitsap School District Board of Directors are invited to attend the forum in the City Hall Chambers.

The forum for council candidates is 6-7:15 p.m.Invited to attend are Jerry Childs and Eric Gonnason, running for the council at-large seat; Bek Ashby and Kim Punt, running for the Position 2 council seat; along with Rob Putaansuu (Pos. 3) and Fred Chang (Pos. 4), who are running unopposed.

Following the council forum, the forum for SKSD director candidates will begin at 7:30 p.m. District 3 director candidates Chris Lemke and Jeff Lakin, along with District 4 candidate Rebecca Diehl are invited to attend.

On Thursday, Oct. 10, state Sen. Nathan Schlicher and state Rep. Jan Angel are invited to attend a debate from 6-7:15 p.m. in the Norm Dicks Government Center, 345 Sixth St., Bremerton.
