Port Orchard resident and U.S. Navy Captain Ed Pierson relinquished command of U.S. Pacific Fleet’s Joint Contingency Unit (JCU) to Captain Chris Siegle during a ceremony held recently in San Diego at Third Fleet Headquarters.
Pierson received a hand-carved plaque in appreciation for his service.
Pierson, a 20-year Port Orchard resident, has held several senior leadership roles in the Navy including Commanding Officer, Patrol Squadron 69 and Joint Operations Center Director, U.S. Pacific Command.
He currently serves at the Pentagon as Chief Staff Officer for Training, Readiness & Strategic Communications within the CNO’s Management Analysis Unit.
As a civilian, Pierson works for The Boeing Company as senior manager of Business Operations in the flight test and evaluation business unit.
