A 29-year-old Suquamish man was arrested in Poulsbo after police allegedly found large amounts of drugs and cash along with a 9mm pistol after he was pulled over for suspected driving under the influence.

Poulsbo police found approximately 4,000 M30 pills (suspected to contain fentanyl), 451.3 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 206.8 grams of suspected cocaine and 19.4 grams of suspected heroin (55.6 grams in evidence bag) from the vehicle, per the police report.

“The pills commonly have traces of fentanyl and often a lethal dose of the drug if not properly mixed and pressed,” the police report states. “It is the most common narcotic I currently seize, and from interviewing drug users, the most common drug they purchase.”

Additionally, $4,918 was retrieved and a Polymer 80 9mm pistol was found in Shawn Morse’s vehicle. An extended magazine was also found, which contained 33 rounds.

Morse was initially stopped July 1 after someone reported he was driving erratically on Forest Rock Lane. The police report states that he is a convicted felon for drug and firearm-related incidents and has pending charges in Pierce and Kitsap counties.

As police approached Morse’s vehicle, he seemed “lethargic” and was “sweating,” which police noted are signs of being under the influence of narcotics. Several torch lighters and aluminum foil were also found in the vehicle, which police said is common for narcotics use, along with two digital scales and several small baggies.

Morse is facing charges of possession with intent to deliver or manufacture, unlawful possession of a firearm and DUI. His bail was listed at $325,000.
