BELLEVUE — Snohomish County Councilman John Koster, Republican candidate for the short- and full-term positions in Congress representing District 1, will have a fundraising breakfast June 21, 7:30-9 a.m., in the Bellevue Hilton Sky View Room, 300 112th Ave. SE, Bellevue.
The event will be hosted by former state senators Dino Rossi and Dan McDonald, and state Republican Party Chairman Kirby Wilbur.
Koster (www.kosterforcongress.com) ran for Cong-ress from District 2 in 2000 and 2010. After reapportionment, he found himself in District 1 and filed as a candidate for the one-month that will be remaining in former Rep. Jay Inslee’s term by the time votes are counted, and for the two-year term in the new District 1 created by reapportionment.
The winner of the short term will represent Kitsap County until Jan. 3. After that, Kitsap County becomes part of the 6th District.
Koster is one of 11 candidates for the short-term — eight Democrats, two Republicans, and one Independent.
The fundraiser is $100 per person, $50 for Republican Precinct Committee officers, and $1,000 for VIP table of 10. Call (360) 631-3388 or email info@KosterForCongress.com.
