Sarah, born of Kathrin Cook Pool White and Richard Stephen White, created beauty and gave of herself completely. She fought tirelessly for an end to war, workers’ and women’s rights, and social justice.

Sarah worked for King County’s Wastewater Treatment Division and was instrumental in developing their internship program, one successfully replicated by other county divisions.

She reveled in the success of others and found quiet peace in her garden. To have known Sarah was to be touched by beauty and a force to reckon with, and to be unconditionally loved.

She leaves behind her beloved soulmate Dick Roemer, daughter of her heart Shauntika Woods, family and friends, and her dear Indianola community. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, sister Ann, brother-in-law Barney Cain, mother-in-law Louise Roemer, and many golden retrievers.

A celebration of life will be held at the Camp Indianola, 10635 NE Shore Drive on September 24 at 1 pm. Donations to Planned Parenthood or an organization you choose would honor her life.
