The Bremerton boys basketball team is 1-3 overall after a 52-43 loss against Port Townsend Tuesday, following the team’s first and only victory of the season, a 61-49 win against Port Angeles Dec. 5. Against Port Townsend, Josh Koets led the Knights in scoring with 15 points, while J’Tonn Dale added 12. Bremerton failed to overcome a 14-point deficit after falling behind 24-10 in the first quarter.
The Knights traveled to North Kitsap last night, but results from that game were unavailable at press time. The team visits Klahowya at 7 p.m. Tuesday before returning home against Olympic at 7 p.m. Dec. 19.
The girls team, meanwhile, has yet to win a game. The Lady Knights (0-4) lost against Port Townsend 56-45 Tuesday and against Port Angeles 93-61 Dec. 5. Jalen Carpenter scored 19 points in the loss against Port Townsend, but no other Lady Knight scored in double figures. Coach Daniel McInnis’ team hosted North Kitsap last night, but results from that game were unavailable at press time. The team has back-to-back homes games Monday and Tuesday, hosting Interlake and Klahowya, respectively. Both games begin at 7 p.m.
Bowling
Ariel Wagg continued her dominant rolling Tuesday, leading the Lady Knights to an easy 6-1 victory against 2A North Mason. Wagg rolled a high series of 336 including a high game of 181 to help Bremerton sweep both regular games, 769-437 and 750-453. BHS (6-1) entered Thursday’s match against Peninsula in first place in the Olympic League standings. The team travels to Tacoma for the Tower Classic, which begins at 8:30 a.m.
