Mia Alpaugh passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 10, 2022. She was 18.
Mia was born on February 22, 2004 in Seattle, WA. She lived on Bainbridge Island her entire life. Mia graduated from Bainbridge High School, where she was a member of the Swim and Dive team. Mia was a creative artist with many varied interests, including music, forensic science and righting social injustice. Mia was about to start college at Western Washington University, where she planned on becoming an elementary school teacher or perhaps a computer designer. Mia was funny, vibrant, wise, silly, forgetful, stubborn, passionate, beautiful, bold and the best listener. These words do not do justice to the beautiful and magnificent life she lived and was creating, or the great loss that is felt by all. She was the best daughter and sister, and loyal to her true friends.
Mia is survived by her grandparents, John and Dolores Allen, grandmother Bess Alpaugh, parents Thomas and Vivienne Alpaugh, her older brothers Spencer and Sam, her older sister Mollie, and her cat, Chowder. She is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Her absence will be felt every day. Arrangements are entrusted to the Cook Family Funeral Home of Bainbridge Island.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Mass of Resurrection on Monday, October 24, 2022 at 11:00 am at St. Cecilia Catholic Church 1310 Madison Avenue North Bainbridge Island, WA.
