Downtown’s newest store, The Bremerton Mercantile, recently celebrated its grand opening at 4th and Pacific.
Owner Jimmy Harris said, “We are thrilled to bring a fun, new retail concept to downtown Bremerton.”
The store combines a gift and décor shop with convenience store fare to enhance the tourist shopping experience, while giving locals an entertaining place to shop for special occasions or treat themselves to hard-to-find merchandise. Many products are made in the state or are state-themed. Many others are made in Bremerton.
To add to the experience, the stores clerks are being trained to be downtown ambassadors who recommend other businesses to visitors, along with museums and theaters. Also in the plan is to develop a network of selfie-mural walls to send tourists around the area, sponsoring First Fridays Art Walk, and hosting local artists in our shops, Harris added.
Jimmy and Michael Harris of Union, along with their two young sons, Tucker and Grayson, also own Cups Espresso & Café directly across the street from The Bremerton Mercantile, as well as Harborside Market and Scoops & Bites, which are both located at the Bremerton Ferry Terminal. They also own locations of Cups Espresso & Cafes in Poulsbo and Bainbridge Island, and recently signed a lease for a space in Manchester to open a combined Cups Espresso & Café paired with a Harborside Market.
Their shops are open every day.
