The town is fully dressed for the occasion with ornaments, garland, and thousands of bright white lights. Port Gamble merchants are stocking their shelves and their sidewalks with holiday shopping in mind.
The goblins and ghouls are being replaced by ornaments and wreaths. The brightly colored leaves will soon be replaced with brightly colored lights. And in the same spirit of seasonal changes, Port Gamble is putting away the scares in exchange for holiday cheer.
The Port Gamble General Store will be kicking off the holiday season with their sixth annual Holiday Open House from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 14.
The popular annual Ghost Walks take place from 7-10 p.m., October through March, and typically sell out fast. Take a guided tour of Port Gamble highlighting the town’s history and paranormal experiences. They include stops in the Walker-Ames House, Historic Museum, Post Office, old morgue and the Buena Vista Cemetery.
Steampunk is coming to Port Gamble for the first time ever — the SteamPort Gamble Steampunk Festival on Aug. 29.
Join us and celebrate the Fourth of July like never before in Port Gamble July 3-5. Logging shows, carnival rides, car shows, live music and great food are just some of the family-fun experiences to be had over the weekend.
On June 6 and 7, the township of Port Gamble will be transformed from its everyday existence as a small mill town to a colorful Middle Ages encampment for the pageantry and celebration of the Barony of Dragon’s Laire.
