Amy Igloi, owner of Amy’s On The Bay, hosted a New Year’s Eve party for more than  75 people with all proceeds of the evening benefiting the local, nonprofit agency Holly Ridge Center.

The New Year’s Eve fundraising event kicked off Holly Ridge Center’s 50th year of provided early intervention services to children with developmental delays and employment services to adults with disabilities throughout the Kitsap-Olympic Peninsulas.

“During 2011, the center provided more than 800 children access to the only neurodevelopmental services offered on the Olympic Peninsula,” said Roxanne Bryson, Holly Ridge Center executive director. “Low income families represent 69 percent of these clients.”

HRC’s mandate is to turn no child away due to a family’s inability to pay for services, so fundraising is an extremely important element for the agency so that it can continue to subsidize its services to families in need, added Bryson.

Amy’s on the Bay is actively involved in community activities throughout Kitsap County.

“Amy’s On The Bay has a number of projects that we are a part of or sponsor because we passionately believe in the practice of continually making a positive difference by giving back within our local community, so the opportunity to help hundreds of children with disabilities right here in Kitsap is a privilege,” said Igloi.
