Strube elected to lead Bremerton chamber
The Bremerton Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors promoted Michael Strube to the position of executive director.
“Our goal of being far more active with our members on a daily basis has been very well received, and this will continue to be the core focus of our Chamber moving forward,” Shawn Cucciardi, president of the Board of Directors, said in a statement.
“This is an incredible organization, and I look forward to continuing my activities with the Chamber, and appreciate the support I have received from the Board and the community,” Strube said in the statement.
Free tax workshop for business owners in Bremerton
The Bremerton office of the state Department of Revenue is hosting a free workshop for new and small business owners on Thursday, Dec. 9, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Sheridan Park Community Center, Rooms B and C, 680 Lebo Blvd.
Participants will learn about Washington excise taxes, reporting classifications, deductions, tax incentives, sales tax collection and record-keeping requirements. All will receive a workbook and reference guide to Department of Revenue rules and regulations.

Cash for Appliances Washington money spoken for
Cash for Appliances Washington announced Monday that all rebate money has been committed to applicants.
Any applications received now will be placed on a waiting list, with no guarantee of a rebate, according to a statement. If any applications currently under review don’t qualify, those on the waiting list can receive rebates in the order their applications were received.
Cash for Appliances has contributed to at least $35 million in retail sales and provided more than $5 million in rebates to Washington residents who have purchased energy-efficient appliances.

Toy drive and open house
Northwest Therapeutic Massage & Wellness is holding a toy drive and open house to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its office at 9414 Ridgetop Blvd, Suite 103, Silverdale.
For every new unwrapped toy or $5 donation, donors will receive an entry in a holiday gift basket drawing.
