KCU’s senior vice president to retire
Ron Rogerson, senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Kitsap Credit Union, announced his retirement after 14 years with the company. His send-off will be March 1. Before joining Kitsap Credit Union, Rogerson worked for KBRO AM and FM radio as a station manager and was the play-by-play commentator for local high school sports for more than 10 years. He has also been a local business owner and a member of the Silverdale Rotary for more than 20 years. “My over 14-year tenure at Kitsap Credit Union has been the most gratifying, rewarding, exciting and fun experience of my over 40 year professional career,” Rogerson said in a statement.
Kitsap Economic Development Alliance to host annual Decision Makers Breakfast
The Kitsap Economic Development Alliance will host its annual breakfast Jan. 20 at the Kitsap Conference Center, 100 Washington Ave., Bremerton. Economist Dr. John Mitchell will give a Kitsap presentation on the economy titled “2011 — A Recovery We Can Feel?” Puget Sound Energy will also give a presentation covering trends and commercial business programs for the future of energy.
Breakfast and networking begins at 7 a.m. followed by the presentations with the program ending at 10 a.m. Seating is limited and registration is required by Jan. 14 by calling (360) 479-3712. The cost is $50 for members and $60 for nonmembers.
New marketing representative at Pacific Northwest Title of
Kitsap County
Pacific Northwest Title of Kitsap County announced Mindy Teigen as the new marketing representative at Pacific Northwest Title for the North Kitsap area. She is responsible for managing accounts and growing business with builders, developers, realtors and mortgage lender clients. Teigen previously worked in the real estate industry and acted as the liaison between agents and clients as well as coordinated marketing and advertising.
HoneyBaked Ham in Silverdale closing
The owners of Honey-Baked Ham in Silverdale decided to close up shop earlier this month after seven years of business. A deciding factor in the decision was because the work load was more than the two owners wanted to continue with. “We wish to thank all of our many customers (individually and corporate) for your loyal patronage and will surely miss you all,” wrote Sue and Kelly White.

Councilmembers earn leadership certification
Bremerton City Councilwoman Dianne Robinson and Councilman Nick Wofford have earned an Advanced Certificate of Municipal Leadership from the Association of Washington Cities.
Robinson and Wofford completed 60 hours of training to receive certification. The leadership program trains elected municipal officials to operate within the law, plan for the future, secure and manage money and develop community and staff relationships. Both are in their second term of office.
Kitsap Bank food drive benefits Bremerton Foodline
Kitsap Bank’s Pacific Avenue branch in Bremerton raised more than 500 pounds of non-perishable food items through donations made by customers and bank employees. “At Kitsap Bank we believe in giving back to our community,” Cindy Moore, the branch’s operations manager said in a statement.
