Bremerton-based Westsound Bank, the operating subsidiary of WSB Financial Group, recently celebrated its 10th year in business.
Westsound Bank opened its first branch in downtown Bremerton on March 12, 1999.
To celebrate the milestone, Westsound staff members have arranged festivities at all branch locations. Stop in any of the nine branches during the month of March for anniversary giveaways, to enter to win prizes and enjoy cookies and cupcakes.
Westsound Bank also salutes three members of the team celebrating 10-year anniversaries this year. Senior Vice President Ronnie Colburn-Currier has been with the company since its formation. Bremerton Client Service Representative Gayle Cokelet and Vice President and Controller Tracy Pelley also celebrated 10 years with Westsound.

Castle receives WSU certificate
Art Castle, executive vice president of the Home Builders Association of Kitsap County and Secretary of the Kitsap Home Builders Foundation, received a certificate from Washington State University for low impact development technical workshop series. The certificate is based on attending each of the four two-day workshops in the series and completing a test on each segment of the series and a final test.
Castle attended the first workshops in Sequim in May and June 2008. Additional workshop series have been held in Bellingham and Lacey and the final series will be held in Seattle in April and May.
Each workshop series has four two-day workshops on different aspects of low impact development including low impact development for buildings; permeable paving; site planning; temporary erosion and sediment control and inspections; and bioretention.
Ashley Gardens certified to care for additional residents
Ashley Gardens of Bremerton, a memory care community at 3231 Pine Road, recently received certification from the Washington State Department of Health to care for additional residents. The memory care community can now care for up to 40 residents.
Certification of the increased capacity was granted to the community following a successful inspection by the Department of Health.

Hartford joins Smith Chiropractic
Dr. Forrest Hartford recently joined Smith Chiro-practic’s Manette office. Hartford specializes in active release techniques.
Hartford is a Western States Chiropractic College graduate where he was valedictorian of his class. Prior to attending chiropractic college, he played baseball at the University of Puget Sound where he majored in exercise science.
Larson joins Art Anderson Associates
Wayne Larson is the newest addition to Art Anderson Associates, a Brem-erton-based engineering services firm.
Larson, a Wash-ington-licensed professional electrical engineer, has more than 19 years of experience in electrical engineering. His experience spans both design and project management. He recently served as an engineering manager of a Virginia-based defense technology firm, working on control systems for the country’s newest carrier, the USS George H.W. Bush. He also served as a Navy officer aboard the nuclear attack submarine, USS Spadefish.
Larson earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Penn State University, a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from the United States Naval Academy and is a graduate of the Navy Nuclear Power School.
