It’s been a long time in the works, but after millions of dollars, tons of hype and promises, downtown Bremerton remains all dressed up with no where to go.
Businesses in the heart of Bremerton are suffering, and one project intended to make the downtown more friendly to pedestrians, the ferry traffic tunnel, are blamed for helping fuel the exodus.
Some proponents have not lost faith, including those with personal and professional fortunes tied to the success of downtown. It will get better, it just takes time.
