Local architect earns energy environmental accreditation
Miles Yanick, an architect with Miles Yanick & Co., recently received his Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, Accredited Professional credentials. Miles Yanick & Co. has been a recognized leader in environmentally responsible design for 35 years. The firm prepared environmental impact analysis reports in the 1970s for land planning and site development projects prior to the environmental checklist process as now required by Washington State. They have also designed earth sheltered homes, passive solar homes and buildings, plus green roofs as far back as the 1970s and 1980s. It also designed Central Market in Poulsbo which was featured in King and Kitsap County in 1996 as a showcase for recycled materials in commercial buildings.

Jeanne Maier of Poulsbo has successfully completed the advanced floral design study program at the Floral Design Institute of Seattle and is now certified in advanced floral design.
To achieve this honor, Maier has participated in an intensive program studying current trends, design influences and business practices in the floral industry. Certification requires an advanced understanding and professional application of the eleven design elements and principles: form, space, texture, line, color, accent, scale, harmony, rhythm, unity and balance.

Kingston Realtor earns professional designation
Sharon McNutt, a Realtor with Windermere/Kingston Realty Inc. has recently earned the seniors real estate sspecialist (SRES) professional designation by the Senior Advantage Real Estate Council (SAREC), an official member of the National Association of Realtors.
