Jennifer Carrier has been promoted to assistant vice president of Liberty Bay Bank. Carrier, a resident of Kingston, joined Liberty Bay Bank in January 2010. In her initial role as operations supervisor, she was responsible for assisting the chief operating officer in managing daily bank operations as well as building new relationships for Liberty Bay Bank. She was promoted to branch manager in January 2011.
Peninsula Breast Center, co-founded by Berit L. Madsen, M.D. and Sheila Lally, DO, has opened at 19917 7th Ave., Poulsbo. Madsen and Lally founded the center to bring multi-specialty breast cancer diagnosis and treatment close to home. Lally is a board-certified general surgeon specializing in breast cancer treatment and the primary surgeon at the Peninsula Breast Center. She has been providing care to patients on the Kitsap Peninsula and Bainbridge Island for more than 15 years.
The City of Poulsbo will host a West Poulsbo (Viking Avenue) Community Meeting on Oct. 17, 5:30 p.m., in the Poulsbo City Hall Council Chambers. Mayor Becky Erickson said all business owners and concerned residents from the Viking Avenue area are invited to attend. The topic of conversation will be “What can the City of Poulsbo do to help support your businesses along Viking Avenue?”

PORT GAMBLE — The Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe will host an open house Wednesday to provide information on the upcoming Point Casino expansion — 52,000 square feet, 80 more employees, and an events center.

AmericanWest Bank, which was revived out of bankruptcy in 2010 under the ownership of a new holding company, is acquiring Viking Bank for $7.2 million, or $2.65 per share. Viking Bank’s branches, including the one in Poulsbo, will bear the AmericanWest Bank name after the acquisition is approved by federal regulators. AmericanWest Chairman and CEO Scott A. Kisting said approval could come by the end of the year.
