Jenna Mathews and Laura Nesby opened the ladies’ and children’s consignment shop in Bremerton in May and Mathews said business improves every day.

“Every month it kind of gets a little bit better and that’s kind of the expectation, so that’s been nice,” Mathews said.

Mathews, of Bremerton, and Nesby, of Poulsbo, both have young children and shopped at local consignment shops.

“We’re both mothers of 2-year-old sons and we both shopped consignment shops in the area,” Mathews said. “Kids’ clothing is so expensive brand new.”

Mathews previously worked at Kraft Foods and decided she needed a change. Nesby and her husband own Mor Mor Bistro and Bar in Poulsbo, but she had wanted to open a consignment shop for a while.

The friends then got serious about their consignment shop dreams and found a good location in Bremerton to open up shop.

Perfect Circle is next to Kitsap Auto Licensing and a few doors down from Family Pancake House on Kitsap Way. Mathews said the location is perfect for her and Nesby’s consignment shop.

“We’re kind of in the middle of our customer base,” Mathews said.

Perfect Circle sells and accepts a variety of women’s items including shirts, pants, skirts, shoes and handbags. Perfect Circle has all sizes and styles of children’s clothing and shoes as well as toys, cribs, bassinets and even VHS tapes. Mathews said consignment items typically cost about half as much as the standard retail price.

Perfect Circle is currently accepting fall and winter clothing items. Unlike other consignment shops, there is no limit on the amount of items a person can bring in at one time.

“We have a really lenient policy compared to the other places in the area,” Mathews said.

Perfect Circle does not accept items the first seven days of each month.

Items that do not sell at Perfect Circle are donated to five local organizations: Pregnancy Resource Services, Holly Ridge Center, YWCA of Kitsap County, North Kitsap Clothing Bank and Spread the Threads.

“As a local business, we really want to be giving back to the community wherever we can,” Mathews said.

Perfect Circle also hosts events for children and mothers. Moms Night Out is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 10 and children are invited to make trick-or-treat bags at the consignment shop on Oct. 25. For more information, contact Perfect Circle at (360) 373-3688.
