The website described Port Orchard as “a ferry ride away from Seattle and Bremerton, making excursions to the area quite accessible for those wanting to escape for a day or entire weekend. A glimpse of the beautiful snow-capped Olympic Mountains is sufficient to lure visitors from all parts of the country.”

The only other Kitsap County small city to be recognized was Poulsbo.

The top 14 small cities in the state are: 1. Friday Harbor, 2. Hoquiam, 3. Oak Harbor, 4. Sequim, 5. Bellingham, 6. Port Orchard, 7. Chehalis, 8. Ellensburg, 9. Pullman, 10. Walla Walla, 11. Tumwater, 12. Poulsbo, 13. Chelan, 14. Moses Lake.
