The public is invited to join city officials, port officials, business leaders and Fathoms o’Fun royalty to board the 9 p.m. foot ferry sailing to Bremerton.
The Port Orchard contingent will be greeted by Bremerton Mayor Patty Lent, along with city officials and business leaders.
Some of the Port Orchard group will return with Bremerton representatives to enjoy refreshments, while others plan to stay and enjoy the Bremerton waterfront.
“This is a great example of what can happen when everyone works together,” said Bek Ashby, chair of the marketing committee for the Port Orchard Bay Street Association.
The cities of Port Orchard and Bremerton, along with the Port of Bremerton came together to fund extended weekend hours for the foot ferry service between Port Orchard and Bremerton, which begin Friday, May 24 and will run until Sept. 2.
The service will accept cash only ($2 per person each way) for adults and children over age 5. Children under 5 ride free. No ORCA cards or passes will be accepted.
