POULSBO — One evening. One location. Many choices. That’s the idea behind Poulsbo Uncorked.
On Thursday evening, May 29, the Greater Poulsbo Chamber of Commerce will showcase some of the area’s restaurants, caterers, wineries, and breweries in an adults-only event. Exchange your $20 ticket at the door for an etched wine glass and five tokens. With each token, you may choose from among the participating vendors to sample the wines and beers and enjoy a little bite or two.
“It’s a chance to try several tastes without having to order multiple meals at multiple locations,” Chamber Executive Director Jan Harrison said. “And it’s a fun way to raise a little money, both for the Chamber and for North Kitsap Fishline.”
The event will be held in the new Fishline parking lot, on Viking Avenue, under one big tent, donated by Bennie’s Jets Fireworks, along with Hagerman Pre-cast. Donations of cash and non-perishable items will be accepted. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Fishline.
“The idea grew out of a conversation I had with John Nesby,” Chamber President Jessie Nino said. “My husband and I were regulars at the downtown wine walks and loved the sense of community they created. John supported reviving that idea, but with a third party organizing it. He agreed the Chamber would be the right choice. At the time, John still had Mor Mor, but was planning the remodel to Green Light Diner. He supports the project — but with a brand new restaurant, told us he’d have to wait until our next Uncorked event to join us.
“As the planning grew, and we began to invite participants from all around the area, we thought it might be a better choice to also showcase Fishline, as well as these talented food and drink vendors. So we located our event on Viking Avenue to show off Fishline’s new location.”
Tickets can be purchased at participating vendors: 2 Brothers Deli, Hood Canal Brewery, Port Gamble General Store & Café, Caffé Cocina, Sound Brewery, Red Apple, Jak’s Café & Catering, Eleven Winery, Sweet Life Cakery, and D’Vine Wine & D’Lectables.
“We’re the Greater Poulsbo Chamber, so it’s terrific to pull in people from all over the north end,” Harrison said. “Regulars at Jak’s, for example, might not yet have tried Port Gamble — this brings our vendors new customers who can enjoy their food and drink long after Poulsbo Uncorked has ended.”
Poulsbo Uncorked runs from 4:30-7:30 p.m. on May 29 at 20081 Viking Ave., Poulsbo. Tickets must be purchased in advance at the vendors listed above, and you must be at least 21 years old. For more information, call 360-779-4999.
