Windermere Real Estate/West Sound Inc. and Guild Mortgage Company in conjunction with the Washington State Housing Finance Commission (WSHFC) is offering a free, first-time home buyer education class at 11 a.m., July 25 at MontClair Park Assisted Living Center at 1250 NE Lincoln Road in Poulsbo.

This five-hour class is required for first-time home buyers to take advantage of state-sponsored assistance programs. Attendees will learn about the many programs available through state and county agencies to assist first-time home buyers. Also covered in the class are the home-buying process, lending and credit scores, budgeting, the pros and cons of home ownership, home inspections, escrow and title insurance, agency law, the federal $8,000 tax credit and much more.
