I was intrigued by Mick Sheldon’s letter in the Nov. 24 print edition.
Mick states that the Kitsap County Council for Human Rights went off the rails and needs proper guidance. Mick fails to specify where they went off rail and who provides this guidance. Members of the council are unpaid volunteers with only an educational role. No doubt, Mick can educate them.
I recommend Mick lend some right-wing wisdom and guidance. The Council for Human Rights is soliciting for volunteers to help staff the council. I noted that two or three of the 15 positions are vacant. Mick is free to submit his application online and have the Kitsap County Commissioners, aka government, possibly approve him to be one of the county’s volunteers, working hard to Make America Great Again.
America will be made great again by those who participate in government and do not just try to steer it in their preferred direction from a keyboard.
I look forward to seeing Mick’s name added to the council roster. As Mick comes aboard, I am sure that, like a speed racer, he is going to have some right-wing human rights organizations drafting in behind him to provide technical support on what “proper human rights” are comprised of.
I sadly noted that the right was not represented at the Nov. 2 meeting. Left-wing organizations such as the Kitsap Regional Library, NAACP, Young Women’s Christian Association, Food Bank Coalition, Stand Up for Kids, and others populated the landscape of this meeting; not a single representative from the right, telling them how to get it right.
