This week we were made aware of the change in ownership of our local bank, American Marine Bank. Growing up on Bainbridge, my family has been customers of this bank going back 40 years.

First, my parents on Bainbridge, then my family — including my son here at the local branch located inside Central Market. I am remaining hopeful that the staff employed at our local branch remains the same. Whether it’s the manager Gwen, supervisor Misty or one of the other wonderful staff members Elisa, Tiffany or Carissa, we have always received top-notch customer service there.

In these times where jobs are so difficult to find, it is my hope that these wonderful ladies remain here at this branch.

During the changeover they have remained true — professional, courteous and above all else — smiling and cheerful.

For these reasons I hope that Columbia Bank recognizes these truly valuable employees and keeps them here at this local branch.
