I attended the recent town hall meeting given by U.S. Rep. Jay Inslee. This time, I was lucky enough to be called upon to ask my questions. Here are my questions, followed by Congressman Inslee’s replies. The first answer is not a direct quote, but a summary. He did not answer the question. The second answer is a direct quote.

Question — Please comment on the fiscal breakdown in Greece and what caused it.

Answer — Greece did a few good things for democracy a few millenia ago.

Question — Are you aware that the International Monetary Fund, the European Union and even the New York Times all agree that Greece must privatize its health care system in order to survive economically?

Answer — “No.”

I sat down in a state of shock. Our representative did not know that Greece’s economy collapsed because of the vast number of social programs which drove that nation into bankruptcy. Our congressman was not even aware that the IMF and the EU were both demanding privatization of the Greek health care system. Inslee’s fiscal ignorance was displayed again a short time later when he defended his vote in support of the huge U.S. health care debacle that will bankrupt our country.

If we are to survive, the voters must replace Inslee.
