Did you pick up on the stupidity on the front page of January’s Kingston Community News?
Two headlines: “$340K for SoundRunner in 2012” ($700K total) for 24-29 passengers; and “Top Stories from 2011 / Clinic at Spectrum Closes” with 90-plus students no longer served, saving the Kitsap Health District $109K.
What is wrong with us? The choices our elected officials make are our responsibility to direct. Healthy, cared for young people are our future and I need them to determine the future of North Kitsap. I don’t want subsidized commuters whose loyalty is divided between Seattle and North Kitsap (few live in the Kingston Port District) doing the determining.
I know, Port money is not health district money but it all is our money. We must make smarter choices.
