Have you had one of those days when he asks “What’s for dinner” and you say “it’s not here? Let’s go to Poulsbo and decide on the way.”
We had a great meal and excellent waitress at Sheila’s by the bay.
Expecting the bill, we were told it had been paid by the young man at the next table. She, the waitress, even declined our tip.
Overwhelmed and questioning, we thanked him for his kindness and generosity.
You see, my husband is a World War II veteran and always wears a service cap.
The young man served as an Airborne veteran and his grandfather served in World War II.
He remembered his grandfather’s stories and in his memory and the men and women of the service who have given so much for their country and freedom he thanked my husband.
We thank him so much.
