The climate change deniers seem all too willing to parrot propaganda orchestrated by corporate polluters who don’t want to adnut that their most profitable activities are contributing to global warming. The offending corporations would rather fund campaigns to discredit science than clean up their act. While the hacked emails may expose the petty bickering of a small hand full of scientists, they do nothing to alter the fact that there is an overwhelming body of evidence that human activity is the dominant cause of global warming. The hacked email controversy is just a desperate attempt to confuse the public and discredit the evidence. Cleverly scripted corporate propaganda is remarkably effective at swaying those with an anti-science bias. These deniers can’t even bring themselves to admit that our glaciers and ice fields are disappearing, the polar ice shields are receding and some island nations are being swallowed up by rising oceans. It’s one thing to question the effects of human activities on climate change, it’s another to deny the overwhelming evidence that climate change is real.
