From what I hear, neither side of the (Hansville speed tables) committees was willing to compromise. The antis wanted the speed tables removed; the pros wanted the speed tables to remain. There was no give on either side and it resulted in deadlock. Bauer was right in disbanding the committee as it was going nowhere.
Bottom line, the speed tables work. Incidents of speeding are way down. People on either side couldn’t act like rational people should so the outcome is that the existing street configuration will stay.
My observation: it’s too bad that some compromise couldn’t be reached, but it’s over, move on, get a life centered around something else, or develop high blood pressure if you don’t.
