Health care town hall: We still don’t know what the bill is about

Array

Well, today, Saturday, Aug. 29, I attended the town hall meeting at North Kitsap High School regarding the proposed legislation regarding national health care. This, of course, was sponsored by our Congressional Representative Jay Inslee. My first observation of the rather large crowd, was how emotional and involved the people became with some of the responses both from Mr. Inslee and the audience. I guess I expected that “sleepy ole” Kitsap County was not able to be so embroiled with the subject. But, it seems that when you get half-truths from your Congressional representative and mix them with an audience of many emotional and teary-eyed liberals, what can you expect? I felt that many of those in attendance knew a great deal about this fatally flawed legislation and called our representative on it. However, in the true tradition of a party-loving, lock-step politician, Mr. Inslee proclaimed that he would definitely vote for this bill without even telling the audience what the bill must have to garnish his support and vote. Way to go, Mr. Inslee. It makes one wonder why the town meeting was even scheduled.
