As I write this letter, it is the fourth anniversary of the murder of four brave Americans in Benghazi, Libya — four patriots sent into harm’s way by their government.
They surely were expecting to have the support and protection of that government as they heroically performed their mission in a hostile land. Unfortunately, they had been mislead and were forgotten when they most needed support of the agency responsible for their safety. That agency was the U.S. State Department headed by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Moving forward four years, this unindicted felon is asking us to elect her President of the United States. During that four-year span, we have learned much about that person, much of it we already knew, such as the fact that she is known to be a liar and a criminal — criminality resulting from the destruction of government documents and lying to Congress and the FBI.
With the help of a lawless administration, she has avoided prosecution for any crime. Her playbook hasn’t changed in more than 20 years. She testified before Congress in the 1990s and answered questions repeatedly with “I don’t recall.” Recently released documents show that she used the same answer when interviewed by the FBI.
While being questioned by the FBI regarding mishandling government records she answered “I don’t recall” more than 30 times. That was her answer when asked if she received security briefings and other important instructions regarding her position as Secretary of State. The phrase, “I don’t recall,” is the fallback position for someone who chooses not to use their Fifth Amendment privilege but is sure the truth could convict them.
Today, as I think about the patriots of Benghazi, my heart is heavy. As a veteran, it hurts me to my core to think how horrible their deaths must have been. Alone and abandoned by the country they loved. Left to be viciously murdered because the person ultimately responsible for their safety could not recall that they might be in danger.
This weekend, this person told me that I am in “the basket of deplorables” because of my beliefs. While I am not racist, sexist, xenophobic, homophobic, or Islamaphobic, as she said, I am however, “prevaricatophobic.” That means I hate liars. I am also “HillaryBillaryandBarack-ophobic,” meaning I hate certain liars most of all.
I feel sure I belong “in the basket” in her estimation. Never mind that I am just a regular taxpaying citizen who tries to live an ethical existence; because I don’t believe the drivel spouted by this person and her cronies, I am “deplorable.”
To all who read this letter, you need to ask yourself, “Am I deplorable?” According to this person, there is a good chance you are.
