The ninth annual Kathleen Sutton Inspirational Fund Auction was held Oct. 15 at the Port Gamble Pavilion.

The fund helps defer transportation costs for women throughout our community who are undergoing treatment for breast, cervical, ovarian and uterine cancer.

We are proud to live in a community that has such an enormous capacity to “make a difference” for others. This was truly reflective in the tremendous respond to this year’s auction.

The committee expected 150-175 guests to attend the event. More than 375 community members came out to show their support. Our goal was to raise $25,000. So far, with donations still coming in, the fund has exceeded $33,000 in contributions.

This overwhelming generosity will make it possible for the fund to provide support for the increasing number of women who need our help.We are greatly appreciative of the many auction sponsors, auction contributors, monetary contributors, and volunteers. This event would not have been a success without you.

We are in awe of the kindness and good-heartedness of so many community members who value the Kathleen Sutton Inspirational Fund, and more significantly, the lives of women who receive help and hope from the fund. Thank you.
