Recently we had a chimney fire. The damage to the inside of our chimney was extensive, we were no longer able to use the insert. We had to purchase a free-standing wood stove. It was my choice to go to Heritage fireplace shop on Viking Way. This is a family-owned business that has been in existence since the 1960s.
Because we had no heat in our house, these nice people waived the usual two-week wait for installation and sent out an installer two days after our purchase.
I should also mention this was a week before Christmas, and I was stressing because my kids and grandchildren were coming over. Several days after the installation we had issues with the woodstove. By this time it was three days before Christmas and I was quite nervous.
I called the installer after hours when the shop was closed. He called me back within minutes. I’m ashamed to say I was less than nice over the phone, however he was understanding and a perfect gentleman. I told him what time I got off work the following day and he arrived 30 seconds after I got home.
He looked at the stove and politely pointed out what we needed to do to make things right. He showed us a better way to start the fire initially to keep the smoke on the inside of the stove and not in the front room.
These people offer the best customer service around. In addition, we will get up to a 30 percent rebate when we file our taxes because the stove is certified as well as energy efficient.
