Central Kitsap School District construction levy

On behalf of the students, staff and parents of Central Kitsap School District, we would like to thank our community for its support of the district’s capital projects levy. Providing $58 million in local funds and up to $31 million in state and federal dollars, the levy will finance district facility, technology and safety-related projects that create local economic opportunities for contractors, suppliers, professional services and hospitality businesses.

The Central Kitsap School District is committed to the responsible use of taxpayer dollars. To protect your investment in district facilities, we will report at least annually to the community regarding the expenditure of these funds.

The Board of Directors also extends its heartfelt thanks to all of the community members, staff and administrators who worked tirelessly in support of the levy effort. We are fortunate to live in a community that recognizes the district’s success in carrying out its mission and supports the effort to help all our students achieve their full potential. Again, thank you for your support!

On behalf of the CK Kids Matter citizens committee, we would like to extend our deep appreciation to our community and the many volunteers who assisted in our efforts to pass the Central Kitsap School District capital projects levy.

Because of our community’s support, Central Kitsap will receive up to $31 million in additional state and federal dollars to help pay for projects. The levy will help create job opportunities for local construction and service contractors and make critical facility improvements at every school in our district. As these improvements progress, CK Kids Matter will support the District’s efforts to keep our community informed by posting information on our Facebook page — CKKidsMatter — and our website.

Silverdale Incorporation cityhood will mean higher taxes

Incorporate Silverdale? No, thanks.

What is the advantage? Why should we build a city hall, elect a mayor and city council, fund a fire department and police department and their buildings and on and on and on — All this and they tell us our taxes “shouldn’t increase.”

Right, and we believe in the tooth fairy too.
