Thank you

Tree lighting a success

On behalf of the Silverdale community, I would like to once again thank our Albertsons grocery store for its generous large-size candy cane donation. This treat helps to make our Silverdale annual tree lighting a great event for the children. The public turnout was especially large this holiday season.

This year, the event was even more special as the tree was officially dedicated to the community in the name of a young deceased tree admirer. The tree certainly was beautiful due to the efforts of the area’s service clubs. The Silverdale Rotary, Lions and Kiwanis all worked hard to make the evening a success. The Brownsville Elementary students choir and Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue also contributed greatly to a terrific tree lighting.

Representing Silverdale Rotary, I would like to again thank Albertsons for its continued support.

KAPO spreads awareness, not fear

KAPO and Vivian Henderson are to Kitsap citizens what canaries are to coal miners! They are not spreading fear, but awareness. Many do not realize how many personal freedoms have already slipped away nor could they, in their wildest dreams, imagine what the beauracrats are planning next.

Our community will be better served by a well-informed public than one willing to go along believing Big Brother knows best.

KAPO is growing rapidly because more and more people have been personally hurt by intrusions of government. KAPO’s membership, old and new, are not unaware of their responsibilities to the community. They are also aware of their responsibility to protect our state and national constitutions and speak up for freedom.
