After reading Mr. Simpson’s letter, I found that I must reply to it. I want to address a couple of his points that he tried to make. First, he speaks of Obama and Hitler in the same sentence. Does Simpson really believe that Obama, an educated man who is trying to reunite a country that has had eight years (before his election) of ripping apart of our Constitution and the worst economy in decades, to be anything like Hitler? Read your history books (not the Texas version) please.

The second point that I wish to address hits a very personal note. Our representative, Sherry Appleton has been a very close friend of mine for more than 30 years. Appleton was married to one of the highest decorated master chiefs in the U.S. Navy. He served his country for more than 30 years. Before marrying Ron Appleton, she worked for the government in Satellite Beach, Fla., for many years. You couldn’t ask for a more patriotic person to represent us in Olympia.
