On the fourth of May I had an operation on my back — well done, Dr. Morning. It was painless and over in the blink of an eye. The next day I was at Martha & Mary in Poulsbo when they brought me to a room and put me in a bed I felt like a celebrity or something. There were nurses everywhere. It was then the excitement started. The morphine wore off and the devil stepped into the room. Faster than can even be calculated, the Martha and Mary team moved into action. One had the devil by the throat, the other had me swept up in her arms and all cleaned up and wrapped in a nice, soft, warm blanket in the blink of an eye. I have never felt so well cared-for in my life. These people were all on my side. Thank you Michelle, Arin, Kerren, and all of you at Martha & Mary’s.
