It’s time to decide Poulsbo. In less than a week the residents on Poulsbo will know who their mayor will be for the next four years. If you haven’t yet voted, I urge you to do so. And when you do, don’t think about the signs all over town. Consider the accomplishments of Mayor Kathryn Quade and the positive way she has approached the challenges to the city. Although there are those who don’t agree on the location of the new city hall, it is finally being built after 20 years of talking about it. Under her management, the city has weathered the financial storm faced by cities and is adjusting its budget for what we all hope will be only one more lean year. Both our area papers found Quade to be a positive candidate. In its endorsement of Quade, the Kitsap Sun writes that “if it’s [the city] working well, don’t break it” and that “Quade has proved her value as Poulsbo’s mayor.” The North Kitsap Herald “liked her consensus building.” I believe that Poulsbo can have four more positive years under the leadership of Kathryn Quade.
