South Kitsap School District is proud to honor Education Support Professional Week as proclaimed by Gov. Jay Inslee during the week of March 14-18.
There are superheroes working behind the scenes in South Kitsap each day. These staff members are involved in nearly every aspect of district operation, including maintaining school buildings and grounds, providing secretarial and clerical assistance, preparing and serving meals, providing safe transportation, keeping school facilities clean and orderly, assisting in the classroom, providing a secure environment, and many other specialized services.
Education Support Professional Week is an opportunity to recognize and thank the 632 PSE and SEIU classified staff in South Kitsap School District.
Students start and end their day with a ride on the bus thanks to the drivers, routers and maintenance staff from the Transportation Department. Students arrive at campuses and school buildings that are kept safe, warm and dry, thanks to security, grounds, and facilities staff. Students feel a sense of belonging in our school thanks to the care they receive from office and clerical support staff. Students receive additional instructional support thanks to paraeducator staff with materials delivered by warehouse and courier staff.
Students receive wellness care and support, thanks to Health Services staff. Students receive healthy and delicious breakfasts and lunches prepared and served by Food & Nutrition Services staff. Students work on computers and networks supported by Information Technology Services staff. Students spend their days in clean and orderly buildings, thanks to the custodial staff.
These are just a few parts that make up a day in the life of a South Kitsap student and much of it relies on the dedicated team of educational support professionals. Thank you to all the South Kitsap Superheroes. Each of you is valued and appreciated for all you do for South Kitsap School District!
