State politics: Appleton, Rolfes should go back to Olympia

I am voting for Sherry Appleton, Position 1, and Christine Rolfes, Position Position 2, for the 23rd legislative district. These are just a few reasons why I support these legislators:

I personally have had many discussions with each of them. They are always ready to listen. They have both carefully weighed competing needs of the people of our state as they helped in the difficult task of developing the state budget. As Rolfes says, “I hope it (the budget) positions the state to lead the nation out of this recession.”

Rolfes, as a member of the House Transportation Committee, co-sponsored a bill “to establish better cost containment and provide for the long-term sustainability of ferry operations.” She also supports the replacement of the Manette Bridge and the completion of a new Washington state ferry, which will help create jobs.

Appleton also helped create more jobs in Kitsap County by supporting several projects, including restoration of Carpenter Creek. She also was instrumental in keeping Francis Haddon-Morgan Center open.

Appleton and Rolfes are both very supportive of public education, which I consider important.
